4 Ingredient Bath Salts

Published August 15, 2013 by rumbl3

Here is a recipe I found years ago:

Bath Salts-
3 c. Epsom Salts
2 c. Sea Salt
1 c. Baking Soda
5-7 drops Essential/Fragrance Oil
Food Color for desired color

Then I read an article about when using baking soda in your salts, the jars can pop. So here is a revision that works well.

1 c. Epsom Salts

1/2 c. Sea Salt

Essential Oil

Dye/ Color

Notice the decrease in amounts… This revised recipe will make a 12 oz. jar just for you.

It is so cheap to make! The Epsom salts were .88 for a 2 lb. carton and the Sea Salt costs about $2.75 at Costco for a 30 oz. container. This roughly makes the cost of one jar of bath salts… 50 cents give or take.

This recipe also makes a great foot soak if you use peppermint/eucalyptus essential oils. But please be aware- these 2 oils are not so friendly on the girly parts for a bath 🙂
